A Colorado native, Dr. Helen Sims obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, as well as a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine with honors from Colorado State University. Following graduation, she completed a prestigious internship at Steinbeck Country Equine Clinic in Salinas, CA. During this internship she managed complex medical and surgical cases under the guidance of excellent mentors and developed a passion for performance horse medicine. She also worked as an ambulatory practitioner outside of Portland, OR, refining her skills as a general practitioner prior to joining the team at Evergreen Equine Veterinary Practice. When she isn’t working, Dr. Sims enjoys riding her OTTB, cooking and exploring with PNW with her dogs.
